Knattspyrnufélag Akureyrar is a sport club that resides in Akureyri, Iceland. There are other divisions aside from football including Judo and Handball. Its main rivals is another sport club from Akureyri named Þór. KA and Þór emerged their handball clubs to Akureyri handboltafélag before the 2006-2007 handball season in Iceland. They have once been the Icelandic Champions, that was in the year of 1989 after a tough fight against FH (Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar). FH was in the lead before the final round, and were supposed to play against already relegated team Fylkir. FH lost and KA got the title for the first time in their history.

KA currently plays on Akureyri municipal stadium, but will move in their new stadium, Nývangur (New Stadium, or in Spanish Camp Nou) in few years. They share the stadium with their local rivals, Þór Akureyri.
