Shaun Ward is a Canadian politician. He ran in two federal elections and currently sits as an alderman on the Lethbridge City Council. He is married to Patricia and has two children, Kieran and Kathleen.

Ward was raised in a family of eight in County Down, Northern Ireland, and he graduated with teaching certificate from St. Joseph's College in Belfast. He immigrated to Canada in 1968, where he taught as a teacher until 1970.

Graduating with a combined BA/BEd degree from the University of Lethbridge in 1972, Ward started teaching outdoor education and physical education at Lethbridge College. In 1980, he began teaching mathematics at the college.

In 1980, Ward began his political career as a candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada in that year's federal election. He also ran for the same party in the following federal election.

From 1980—1989, Ward was elected to the board of directors for the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital (later named Lethbridge Regional Hospital, and now named the Chinook Regional Hospital).He served as the boards chair from 1989–1992.

Ward ran for a seat on city council in 1992, which he won successfully. He has won a seat on city council in each subsequent municipal election. He placed fourth in the 2004 municipal election.
