[edit] History
KMIR was the first television station to go on the air in the Palm Springs market in 1968. It was purchased by Journal Broadcast Group in 1999. The television station got its call letters from the El (Mir)ador hotel. The Contes, original owners of the station, also owned the hotel, giving it K(MIR).
