[edit] History
KLRT signed on the air as Arkansas' first independent station on June 26, 1983. In 1990, it became affiliated with Fox after picking up the affiliation from KASN, which later became its sister station.
During its early independent years, KLRT's slogan was "Prime Time All the Time".
The station began airing a one hour 9 pm newscast in 2004. In 2007, the station plans to add an hour-long early evening newscast, which will air at 5 pm.[1]
On November 16, 2006, Clear Channel announced its intention to sell off all of its television stations, including KLRT, after the company was bought out by a private equity firm.
