Kjell Leknes, born Kjell Hâvard Leknes in may 1981, is an IP Resource Analyst for the RIPE NCC, registrating IP addresses for Europe, Middle-East and Central Asia.
He grew up in Sunndal, Norway. In 2000 he majored in art- and cultural history, with general studies in math, english, history and biology. He moved to Oslo and lived there for five years. While he was living there he worked 2,5 years for the company Elkem, six weeks for AGA AB, and 3 years as a Hostmaster for the internet company Active 24.
In 2001 he got diagnosed with Crohn's disease. An untreatable inflammatory bowel disease that attacks the bodys immune system. A lot of his time has gone to volunteer work for Landsforeningen Mot Fordøyelsessykdommer. An organization that helps people with these kinds of problems. Within his work he has helped other young people with understanding there disease. You can read more about this work at the organizations youth pages www.lmfungdom.no. While studying at the IT Academy in Oslo, he founded a company together with his friends by the name Playpxl - Web & grafisk design. It was later closed in October 2005.
In spring 2005 he transferred within his work for Active 24 to The Netherlands. He resigned a year later, and started working for RIPE NCC in their registration department.
