I realize this is a fresh article, but we need some peer review. Currently it reads like propaganda. Compare (for example) Gnucleus and Shareaza, rework accordingly. 24.17.30.163 18:54, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

  • 81.245.166.5 (likely the same user as 81.245.162.136, 81.245.165.2, 81.246.169.83), you have removed both NPOV and Cleanup templates without explanation. After seeing strong indications that Kiwi Alpha is bundled with significant amounts of spyware, I am afraid I begin to suspect your motives. Please provide an explanation for the templates' removal here before removing them again. 24.17.30.163 17:35, 19 August 2005 (UTC)

Who wrote this propaganda?

"The main difference between Kiwi Alpha and other file sharing clients is that Kiwi Alpha does not require users to register and protects the user's privacy by connecting anonymously to the network. Kiwi Alpha does not include a chat room, embedded media player, network statistics or other extras that often consume considerable system resources."

gnutella/gnutella2 doesnt offer any annonimity. media player/chat and other functionality takes no system resources (at least some small amount of memory) when off. It can be developed as a LoadOnDemand DLL and take no resources at all.

"However, when comparing the performance of Kiwi Alpha to other file sharing clients it appears that Kiwi Alpha connects faster to the network, brings up more search results, and filters out most corrupt files." On so dynamic network as gnutella/gnutella2 such comparison is impossible.

"For popular searches (e.g mainstream pop and rock artists, recent movies released on DVD, etc.) Kiwi Alpha comes up with a significant number of search results" Very subjective statement. What is "mainstream pop"? and "significant number"?

"To increase download speeds, Kiwi Alpha implements a 'swarming' approach by which parts of the same file are downloaded simultaneously from different sources. This style of downloading dramatically improves transfer speeds and can reduce the time needed to download a large file (e.g. a 700 MB movie file) from 8 hours to less than 30 minutes." This is property of protocol used - not kiwi alpha.
