Kitauwa District, Ehime

Kitauwa (北宇和郡 Kitauwa-gun?) is a district located in Ehime, Japan.
As of 2003, the district has an estimated population of 17,299. The total area is 340.37 km².
The district has two towns

- 1878 - Founded after Uwa District broke off.
- January 1, 2005 - The town of Kihoku was formed from merger of Hiromi and Hiyoshi)
- August 1, 2005 - Mima, Tsushima, and Yoshida merged with the old city of Uwajima to form the new city of Uwajima.
