[edit] History

Taken from his homeworld of Glee Anselm at an early age, Fisto, a Nautolan, quickly shone in the Jedi Order as a youngling. He was trained by Yoda, who taught him his uncanny lightsaber skills, especially in Form I lightsaber combat technique.

Not much is known about any of Fisto's accomplishments or missions before the Clone Wars except that he took a Mon Calamari Jedi named Bant Eerin to be his Padawan.[1] Bant Eerin graduated to Knighthood shortly before the Battle of Geonosis and fought in her Jedi starfighter above the desert planet. Fisto was one of the four commanders of the Jedi taskforce sent there to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi.

After the battle in the execution arena ended in failure and Fisto's outnumbered Jedi comrades were nearly destroyed, Yoda picked the survivors up with a new clone trooper army.

Fisto wasted no time in taking over a fresh battalion of clone troopers to thwart an attempt by the droid army to burst through a canyon into the clone and Jedi ranks. This division of the operation was a success, yet the clone and Jedi death toll that day was still unthinkably large.

Weeks after the Battle of Geonosis, Fisto was given a seat on the Jedi Council, replacing the late Coleman Trebor. Fisto then led a battalion of clone scuba troops to the peaceful planet of Mon Calamari to end a civil dispute with the Quarrens, who were in league with Separatist leader Count Dooku. Fisto's troops there enjoyed a swift victory (for more information regarding this battle refer to the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series).

Fisto was once sent on a mission with Quinlan Vos, Shaak Ti, and Bultar Swan to Nar Shaddaa to look for some hut dealing with Separatist forces. Swan was injured by bounty hunters sent by Count Dooku but was rescued by Vos. Shaak Ti and Kit Fisto arrested both hut and some of the Separatists.

Over the course of the war, however, Fisto developed a relationship with a fellow Jedi, the Twi'lek Aayla Secura. An example of this was when amphibious Fisto saved Secura's life on Kamino after Super battle droids plunged her into the raging waters of that stormy planet. Had they been outside of the Jedi Order this relationship may have expanded into love and maybe even marriage, something forbidden in the Jedi Order.[2]

As the war came to an end, Chancellor Palpatine grew more powerful each day, worrying the Jedi Council. After learning that the Chancellor was in fact a Sith Lord, Master swordsman Mace Windu led a strike team consisting of Agen Kolar, Saesee Tiin, and Fisto to arrest the corrupt Chancellor. When they arrived, Palpatine drew his lightsaber, quickly killing Kolar and Tiin. Fisto managed to block several blows from Palpatine, but was eventually wounded and killed when Palpatine gashed into his stomach. However, in the novelization of Revenge of the Sith, Anakin finds him to have been decapitated by Palpatine's work.

[edit] Merchandising

Kit Fisto is a Star Wars fan favorite and one of the few "popular minor Jedi." Hasbro has also released several action figures of him. Sideshow has released a limited edition 12" figure of Kit Fisto as well. Later in June 2007 Kit Fisto will, for the first time, be produced in Lego form in a new Jedi Starfighter set with hyperspace ring.
