Kirkwall Airport (IATA: KOIICAO: EGPA) is the main airport serving the Orkney Islands in Scotland. It is located 2.5 nautical miles (4.6 km) southeast of Kirkwall and is owned by Highlands and Islands Airports Limited.

[edit] Scheduled Services

  • British Airways (Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Shetland Islands, Wick)
  • Loganair (North Ronaldsay, Papa Westray, Sanday, Westray)

The island is the base station for the Orkney inter-island air service, which is the service operated by Loganair. It links Kirkwall with a series of Orkney Islands Council owned airstrips on the outlying islands, and they are some of the shortest commercial flights known.[citation needed] Other airport users include air ambulance flights, fisheries protection aircraft, the Northern Lighthouse Board helicopter, and various charter flights.
