Kirk Morrison (born February 19, 1982) is an American football player at the middle linebacker position. He grew up in the Oakland area and attended Bishop O'Dowd High School and was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He attended college at San Diego State University (SDSU), and anchored an Aztec defense with current Green Bay Packers safety Marviel Underwood and Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Matt McCoy. Morrison stepped-in for the Raiders right away, and became a full-time starter in his rookie year.

[edit] High School Years

Morrison attended Bishop O'Dowd High School (Oakland, California) and won varsity letters in football and track&field. In football, he led his team to two HAAL championships and two Northern California section 3A championships, was a two-time All-HAAL honoree, and as a senior, was the HAAL Defensive Player of the Year. Incidentally, Underwood's San Leandro High School and Morrison's Bishop O'Dowd High School had an intense rivalry back when both players were preps.

[edit] 2006 Season

Morrison was a big part of the defense for the Raiders in 2006. He finished the year with 127 tackles. He also had 1 sack and 2 interceptions.
