My recollection is that King Egberts was a Girls Grammar well before 1961.

I hadn't been aware that Mercia and Wessex were two kings who met in Dore and indeed a reference would be welcome. roundhouse 14:37, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

I've since modified the page. It does seem that King Ecgbert of Wessex had connections with Dore. roundhouse 14:34, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
