Kingswood Community Centre

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Owned and run by The Kingswood Community Association, a self financing charity.

Sited in Kingswood High Street, BS15 4AB

"The Arch" is the name of the original house which is still in use to this day. At one time, there was a large, free standing stone arch in the grounds adjacent to the main building.

Their current main hall replaced a previous building on the site, which was destroyed by arson.

Many groups and organisations use the building, including: a children's playgroup, a slimming group, a shortmat bowling club, a bingo group, a dancing club, an arts group, Honey Hill Wives, Kingswood Players and The Koi Judo Club. The building is also available for hire, by contacting the administrator on 0117 9674120.

At one time the centre was running two buildings: The Arch (its main building) and Romsdal House (its annexe) adjacent to Kingswood Civic Centre. Administration is now from The Arch and Romsdal House is used by the local authority.
