Kingscote Park is a relatively large sized park (98 acres or 0.4km²) in the Layton suburb of Blackpool in the county of Lancashire, England. Kingscote Park is the second largest park within Blackpool after Stanley Park[1] and the largest park in Layton[2]. The park is run and looked after by Blackpool Council Parks Department and the voluntary group Friends of Kingscote Park, which is run in association with the council. Being surrounded by streets, close to the centre of Layton and next to a well used bus route, Kingscote Park is well known throughout the local area.

Kingscote Park is bordered on the north by Grange Road, Nethway Avenue to the east, Bardsway Avenue and Blairway Avenue to the south and Kingscote Drive along the western side. The park has a large field to the North with trees along the west and south sides, with another field to the south-east which has tress along the south, east and western sides, a children's playground, tarmac sports area and a disused building to the south west.

The park used to be plagues with crime, often being vandalised and anti social behaviour giving the area a bad reputation. But in recent years, crime has visibly fallen thanks to CCTV and regular policing of the area[2]. Also the addition of improved and increased lighting combined with an alcohol ban has helped increase general public wellbeing[1] With the improved status of Kingscote Park, funding has increased. General council spending has increased, and the Barclays Spaces for Sports scheme recently gave the park £50,000 to make the park better accessible and creating more spaces throughout the park for sports such as football and cricket[3]

The voluntary group Friends of Kingscote Park organises many 'Fun Days' to promote socialisation throughout the park[4]
