Kings Park and Botanic Garden

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kings Park and Botanic Garden is located within the grounds of Kings Park, near central Perth, Western Australia. It is situated on Mount Eliza, a limestone ridge which overlooks the Swan River.

It is unusual amongst the world's botanic gardens in that its focus is on local flora. About 2,000 of Western Australia's approximately 12,000 species of plant are represented in the garden.

The garden was opened in 1965, and is administered by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority.
