Kings Have Long Arms (KHLA) are a Sheffield-based "rocktronica" act masterminded by Salford-born Adrian Flanagan (aka "Longy"). Kings Have Long Arms have collaborated with the likes of Phil Oakey from the Human League, Marion from The Lovers and Mira from Ladytron. They have achieved recognition from the UK media as well as in Europe where they headlined the 2004 Feedback Festival in Paris.

The band's debut album 'I Rock Eye Pop' was released in 2006. It features former Smiths members Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce, Phil Oakey, Denise Johnson (A Certain Ratio) and Ray Dorset (Mungo Jerry).

  • Initial copies of the "I Rock Eye Pop" album included a free DVD containing sketches, videos, and live performances.
  • Adrian hosts the Radio [Sheffield Live] weekly show "Mucky Monday Club" This often features live sessions from KHLA and guests.
  • The live band features Lee Mann (dressed as a Mexican wrestler) on bass synth, Ralph Parmar on lead synth, stylophone wizzard Richard Dubrequ, and Michael Cunsolo.
  • The Kings Have Long Arms stage show usually ends with a conga line.
  • Longy describes the KHLA sound as "North-Salford-samba, Blackpoolelectronica, Carrabian via crystal peaks booty bass, 1970's old yorkshire disco, east-european-cossack-techno, 3step-r&b-spythriller songs, electrorockabillysexmusic, slogan-baiting-middle-eastern party pop, theramins and strings and tear jerking working mens club electroballads."

  • On the BBC 6 Music Tom Robinson show in June 2006, KHLA performed a session featuring Shine a Light, Lisa Riley and Re-enter The Two Tone Deaf.
