King of Coins is a Minor Arcana tarot card.

Tarot cards are used throughout much of Europe to play Tarot card games[1].

In English-speaking countries, where the games are largely unknown, Tarot cards came to be utilized primarily for divinatory purposes[1][2].

"He's a man at the top of his game - tough, but an excellent manager, and a devoted husband and friend. Could suggest agricultural pursuits - or stock market holdings" (Hanson-Roberts 2002).

Like all court cards, the King of Coins, also called Pentacles, will often refer to a person playing some role in the life of the questioner. Kings represent men or mature young men, possibly married; men of knowledge and wisdom. The physical characteristics of the suit of coins include dark hair and eyes, dark complexions and sturdy build.

When reversed, this card refers to "A ruthless person with little regard for morality. This King squanders his largesse" (Hanson-Roberts, 2002).
