King Street Bridge

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The King Street Bridge is an unused bridge spanning Toronto, Canada's Don River. The steel bridge is similar to the Queen Street and Bathurst Street Bridges.

King Street was re-aligned to merge with Queen Street East long before the two roads crossed the Don River. The stretch of King east and west of the Don was renamed Eastern Avenue. Eastern is cut off at the Don and the old King Street Bridge no longer links any road east or west; it is cut off by railway tracks on the western shore, and the Don Valley Parkway on the eastern shore.

[edit] Another bridge

This bridge is not to be confused with another King Street Bridge (Melbourne) which suffered major damage soon after opening due to overloading and design and material defects. The bridge did not, however, collapse.
