King Lion or Shishioh (獅子王, Shishioh^?) (as he is known in Japan) is a fighting game character who debuted in SNK's fighting game Savage Reign for the Neo Geo. He's the main boss of the Fu'un series and appeared in both games of this saga: Savage Reign and Kizuna Encounter. Max Eagle is his younger brother.

King Lion appeared suddenly in a public place on a certain day, the statement that assumed oneself to be the strongest was announced, and holding "Battle of the Beast God Tournament" was declared. All of the arrival at the personal history from the real name are enshrouded to the mystery though it has the power that even the government and the mass communication also manipulate. [1]

His ultimate goal is take the power of all Jipang (Japan of the future) and destroy all his enemies. In the first tournament is defeated by Sho Hayate and made a second tournament to finish with Hayate and all who want to stop his plans, even his own brother Eagle (who made team with his enemy in the second tournament).

[edit] True King Lion (Shin Shishioh)

Shin (True) Shishioh (known as King Leo in English versions of the game) is the boss version of this character, that is usually not playable. He has a few more moves than his other counterpart (known as "Kage", or Shadow Shishoh), and some of his moves have been altered.

Another difference between Shin Shishioh and Shishioh, is the color of his armors. In Fu'un series, Shin Shishioh has a golden armor, instead Normal/Kage Shishioh, who has silver armor, both versions mantain the color of their clothes (red in Savage Reign, blue in Kizuna Encounter). But in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum remarks more the differences between each of them. Now Shishioh has silver armor and blue/purple clothes, and Shin Shishioh has golden armor and red clothes, also has darken skin.

In the original story of Fu'un series, Shin Shishioh is the real King Lion, being the other just a shadow of him, as he called "Kage Shishioh" (Savage Reign) or just as an impostor (Kizuna Encounter).

King Lion is, along with Sho Hayate, one of the most charming characters from Fu'un series, appeared in various cameos in games (mainly in The King of Fighters series) and in almost all SNK group artworks.
All his attacks are called in English, and with many references to natural elements (like Earth Chopper).
Also appeared in both SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash games for the Neo Geo Pocket, with Hayate, Rosa, Carol and Kim Sue Il. Also appears in the recent Card Fighters DS game, as a SNK character card and an Counter card.
He also appears in The King of Fighters 2000 as King's additional striker.
He is also a boss in the fighting game Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, in both forms: Shishioh and Shin Shishioh. His history in this game is to convert the WAREZ tournament in a new Battle of the Beast God Tournament.
In Kizuna Encounter, he is supposedly dead, but it seems that he revives after the credits. This was made with the purpose of a future sequel, though this never came to fruition.
