King James's School

King James's School is located on King James Road, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, England and is regarded as one of the best in the area, scoring well on league tables. It went comprehensive in the 1970's, having been founded in the 17th century as King James Grammar school, by Dr Chaloner. There is a yearly magazine published called 'The Chaloner' which discusses school events and individual achievements for both the school and its students. It is created by the students and edited by the school's sixth form.
The current acting headmistress is Dr Walton, due to Headmaster Dr Hudson being taken ill.
Dr Arnold Kellet has written a book about the history of the school.
The crest was registered in the early 1970's.
'Quid Retribuam Domino' is the schools motto.
