In the Warcraft universe, Anasterian Sunstrider was the High Elven King at the time of the Second War, which is shown in the game Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness. He reluctanctly joined the Alliance, honour bound to fulfill a pledge to always help the descendants of the Arathi bloodline, the last being Lord Lothar. Anasterian was forced to contribute more of Quel'Thalas' armies when the outer forests were attacked by the Horde.
Anasterian was also the King of Quel'Thalas at the time of its fall, and died along with the Convocation of Silvermoon. It is assumed that he was the father of Prince Kael'thas, his skull is believed to reside in Outland under the guardianship of his son.
