Sam Chai (Thai: สามชัย) is a minor district (King Amphoe) in the northern part of Kalasin Province, northeastern Thailand.

Neighboring districts are (from the east clockwise) Kham Muang, Sahatsakhan, Nong Kung Si of Kalasin Province and Wang Sam Mo of Udon Thani Province.

The minor district was created on April 1 1995, when it was split off from Kham Muang district.

The district is subdivided into 4 communes (tambon), which are further subdivided into 46 villages (muban). There are no municipal (thesaban) areas, and 4 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
