Kimpton Hotels & Restaurant Group

Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group Inc. is a hotel and restaurant company founded in 1981 by boutique hotel pioneer Bill Kimpton and led by CEO Michael Depatie. The company's properties are located within the United States and Canada and include such notable hotels as the Mayfair Hotel & Spa in Miami, FL, and the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco, CA. Most Kimpton properties are marketed under their own independent names as boutique hotels; however, in 2005 the company launched two sub-brands within the Kimpton brand: Hotel Palomar and Hotel Monaco.
There currently are seven Hotel Monacos (with an eighth in development), located in:
- Chicago, Illinois
- Denver, Colorado
- Salt Lake City, Utah
- San Francisco, California
- Seattle, Washington
- Washington, DC
- Portland, OR
- Alexandria, Virginia (slated to open in 2007)
There are three open Hotel Palomars, in San Francisco, Washington, DC and Dallas. Future Hotel Palomar's are planned in Los Angeles and Nashville.

Kimpton received a 100% rating on the Corporate Equality Index released by the Human Rights Campaign starting in 2004, the third year of the report.
