Kim McLagan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kim McLagan, née Maryse Elizabeth Patricia (Patsy) Kerrigan, (born Leicester, Leicestershire, United Kingdom, December 30, 1948; died August 2, 2006, Travis County, Texas) was an English fashion model during the 1960s, most notably appearing in the global broadcast of The Beatles' All You Need Is Love from Abbey Road Studios in 1967. She later became a cosmetologist.

Young Patsy Kerrigan grew up in Malaysia, on her family's rubber plantation. When her family moved back to London, she began her modelling career, and changed her name to Kim Kerrigan to avoid confusion with fellow model Pattie Boyd, who married George Harrison of the Beatles. She met Keith Moon, drummer with The Who at a concert in Bournemouth. The couple married in March 1966, after Kim became pregnant. Their daughter Amanda Jane (Mandy) was born four months later. The marriage was a turbulent one. Moon forced Kim to give up her modelling career, and was often violently abusive with her.[1] She left him in 1973 and the couple were divorced in 1975. She married her second husband, Ian McLagan of The Faces, on October 9, 1978,[2] the year that Moon died.

The McLagans moved to Texas in 1994. Kim McLagan worked for several years at a spa resort on Lake Austin before opening her own skin care salon on Highway 71 between Bastrop and Smithville, Texas. She died on August 2, 2006 in a traffic accident in Travis County, Texas, aged 57. Her car was hit by a truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene, local police said. [3]
