KIMA-TV, channel 29, is the CBS affiliate serving the Yakima, Washington region.

KIMA was the 200th television station in the United States and the first in central Washington, having signed on the air on July 19, 1953. KIMA was owned by Cascade Broadcasting Co., Inc. It carried programming from all three networks until KNDO signed on in 1959 as the NBC affiliate. KIMA then shared ABC programming with KNDO until 1970, when KAPP signed on and took over ABC.

KIMA used to provide most of the programming for satellite stations KEPR-TV in the Tri-Cities and KLEW-TV in Lewiston, Idaho however, all programming is now ran out of Seattle from Fisher Plaza along with Univision stations KKFQ-CA and KWWV-CA. The station is owned by Fisher Communications.

It is also a sister station of ABC-affiliate KOMO in Seattle, but doesn't share the same broadcasts or network.

KIMA also had a satellite station in Ephrata Washington. KBAS signed on the air February 15, 1957 first on channel 43, moving to channel 16 in 1958. KBAS was owned by Basin TV Co. and reflected its name in its call letters. Basin TV was a subsidiary of Cascade Broadcasting Co., Inc., owners of KIMA.

On February 12th, 2007, KIMA News Watch at 11:00 was cancelled. Sister station KEPR-TV in the Tri-Cities took over the time slot with News Watch at 11:00, a late night newscast featuring news from both the Mid-Columbia, north eastern Oregon, and the Yakima Valley.
