[edit] Platypus Rex
A photograph of an alleged book that cannot be found on Google, or indeed any publishing site, is not proof that your information is correct. All it proves is that you own a book whose cover reads "Smoke and Mirrors". The web site www.platypusrex.org has been up since 2000, which means if this is a bogus site I've created for creating false information about the band, it's an elaborate prank I've been pulling off for 5 years. That site contradicts your info.
Your information says the band's album is called "The King and I". Please provide information from any major music site selling this album. I can provide one: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/platypusrex. That site, in turn, links back to platypusrex.org as the band's web site.
A universally-recognized Web site, as well as testimony from the band itself, is sufficient to prove your claims fals.e Especially since your information claims that Glen Daniels was Time magazine's "Man of the Year", which is easily proven false by any visit to a library with a magazine archive. http://history1900s.about.com/library/weekly/aa050400a.htm contains such a list; Glen Daniels is absent.
Your other information has no backing: for instance, that a member of the band appeared in a Friends spinoff called "Chandler". Other than a photograph of a book cover titled "Smoke and Mirrors", please provide verification that such a show ever existed and that Jonathan Coburn appeared in it. Widely-recognized sites like IMDB contain not a thing about this alleged show.
For that matter, please provide the ISBN number of the book as found on the bar code on the back cover and/or on the inside front page, as well as the name and address of the publishing house who printed it. This should allow for easy verification that the book exists, and if it does, it will allow someone to determine its subject matter and if it is indeed a biography of Platypus Rex. -Jyaus 23:29, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please do any testing here. -Jyaus 23:29, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
Please stop vandalizing the Platypus Rex page. The band has never been arrested for narcotic possession, none of the band members are dead, none have appeared in porn movies, and for certain none have been named Time's "Man of the Year". -Jyaus
You write: "As for me, I am Platypus Rex's biggest fan so I surely know more about the band than you do and everything I have written is accurate and confirmed by the band's biography."
The band's biography is at http://www.platypusrex.org/info.html, which doesn't come anywhere near to resembling what you've written. And no, you don't know more about the band than I do, since I'm *IN* the band.
[edit] Cite your sources
About your edits on Platypus Rex. Could you please cite your sources so the rest of us can verify where you're getting the whole thing from? Thanks. --Gaurav Arora Talk 19:31, August 9, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:List of administrators
You can go to Wikipedia:List of administrators to see a list of all administrators. You can then either contact them or better yet directly go to Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration and ask for help there. I couldn't verify the information you gave though. Would it be possible for you to point me to a site where I could read it?
Just for the record, I'm not an admin so I can't help you guys resolve this any further. I think it's best if for the time being you put up your version on the discussion page or subpage and let people comment on it.

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Meholdingrexbook copy.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Meholdingrexbook copy.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 22:02, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
