[edit] Talk:Aristasia

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Removing the comments of others from talk pages is a form of vandalism. Mangojuicetalk 12:55, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

The above is what we call a vandalism warning. I can see how it's confusing, because you clearly weren't "testing" wikipedia, you made the edit intentionally. I didn't think you didn't make the edit intentionally, but the first-level warning is friendly and doesn't assume you were trying to harm things. Let me be a bit more informative. If you look at Wikipedia:Vandalism, under "types of vandalism" you will see that "Deleting the comments of other users from article talk pages" is a type of vandalism. If you disagree with someone's comment, you can comment on it, as long as you keep it civil and don't make personal attacks. But removing it from the talk page is like you're trying to make people think that someone never said it, which is very different. Anyway, I'm sure you didn't know about this issue: Wikipedia's rules are complicated, and now you do. Mangojuicetalk 19:29, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I thought I had added it back, but I guess I made a mistake. Anyway, if you think Aristasia is notable, you should explain so and why on the AfD page; that is, the current debate. Regardless, Aristasia can't be removed from AfD until the AfD is complete, which takes about 7 days. Mangojuicetalk 12:48, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tara Reid image

Hi, Killerhun00. I removed the image Image:Tara-reid-717164.jpg from the Tara Reid article because, according to Wikipedia's fair use policy, Magazine covers should only be used to illustrate an article or section about the magazine issue in question. That is, we can't use them to illustrate an article about the person depicted on the cover. You may want to read the counter-exmaple #7 on the image's Fair Use guidelines.

Also, we should really avoid uploading images we do not know the source. And avoid tagging some image as {{promotional}} unless we are pretty sure this image was really released with a promotional purpose (this includes knowing the original source of the image, and the statement from the copyright holder explaining the image is intended for distribution).

The second Tara Reid you have upload, Image:Tara-reid-011.jpg , has as source the website http://www.hissandpop.com/ . This seems to be a general celebrity photo-gathering site, and as such, is not the original source for the images it hosts. I could not find any copyright statement, "terms of use" or "about us" in the site, what makes me believe it's not a reliable source for images.

The same holds for image Image:Asia_Argento.jpg. The source site, http://www.celebopedia.com, stated "This site is not endorsed by Asia Argento or any organization Asia Argento is, was or will be associated with. ". So, this is surely not a primary source for promotional image of Asia Argento.

Kept as they are, these images are going to be marked for deletion soon.

Let me know if I may be helpfull in anything. Best regards, --Abu Badali 14:47, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
