Kilmacrenan "NOT Kilmacrennan as above" (Gaelic: Cill Mhic nEanĂ¡in) is a small village located in County Donegal on the north west coast of Ireland. The village had a population of 430 in the 2002 census, however the village's population has increased steadily over the last decade with many new houses being built.

Kilmacrenan is 7 miles from Letterkenny which is the largest town in Donegal. The main road joining Kilmacrenan to Letterkenny is currently being upgraded which should bring the journey time down to less than 10 minutes.

Two rivers flow through the village, the Lennon and the Lurgy. Traditionally the river Lennon was renouned as an excellent river for fishing salmon however the salmon numbers have dropped dramaticaly in recent years, most anglers blame polution for this.

There are 3 pubs in the village: The Village Court, The Anglers Haven and The Mill Bridge, a post office, 1 supermarket and a fruit and veg stall located at 'the cottages'. There are 2 churches in the Village: a Catholic Church and a Church of Ireland. There is also a Presbyterian Church in the townland of Leiter about 2 miles from the village.

There is a school reunion for St. Colmcill's National school in August 2007.(http://www.kilmacrennanschoolreunion.ie)
