Killara is a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Ku-ring-gai Council Local Government Area. The name originated from an Aboriginal word meaning "permanent", and was given by James George Edwards. There is a railway station on the North Shore Line near the Pacific Highway in Culworth Avenue.

The suburb was established as a Gentlemen's suburb, and was designed so that there would be no commercial ventures in the area. For this reason, the suburb has very few shops in the original development, apart from a small handful in Marian St, near the Railway Station.
