Kilkelly (Irish: Cill Cheallaigh) is a village in Kilmovee parish County Mayo, Ireland. It is twinned with the village of Pooh ma too ma in Barundi. It is just south of Knock International Airport, lying between the Airport and the town of Knock itself. The village is right along the N17, a major road running between Galway and Sligo. This road can now safely carry two carts side by side unlike before when it could only support bicycles.Travelling on foot towards Ballaghadereen there is an area called Glann, home to the Duffy and Flatley Clans. This area is well known for egg production and the local brew 'Poteen'. However, over indulgence can lead to extreme changes in body function and mental status. Rumours are abound that last week a local man went on the rampage and smashed up the homeless shelter at Glan Church. If anyone has any information on this could they please contact the local armed gaurd.
Kilkelly is a small village, notable due to the song "Kilkelly, Ireland", written by an American who discovered a series of letters to his Irish immigrant ancestor by that ancestor's father, written by a schoolmaster in Kilkelly.
