Kildar is a military fiction thriller novel by the author John Ringo. It is a sequel to his earlier book Ghost - the first in the Paladin of Shadows series - about the adventures of an Ex-US Navy SEAL as he engages in combat with various terrorist groups. This novel covers Mike Harmon (A.K.A. Mike Jenkins, Ghost, Winterborn or 'Ass-Boy Two') and his arrival in a remote area of the country of Georgia where he discovers a group of peasants who may be related to an ancient group of Viking warriors, the Varangians. Mike buys the local castle and, as such, becomes known by the ancient title of Kildar, lord of the local families.

The Keldara, for whom Mike is the Kildar are used by the US to do violent things that can be disavowed by the US government. In return the Keldara get large amounts of money.

There is also an interesting pyscho sexual aspect as Mike Harmon is a serious "top" in S&M but generally will not force women. However, forturnately, he seems to find no lack of willing "subs".

The latest book, Unto the Breach deals with biowar rated smallpox being taken from a Russian biowar facility. Al Quaida is behind this and Mike and his Keldara are involved in trying to recover and destroy the smallpox.
