Kilan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Small town, east of Tehran, Iran (35.4 N 52.1 E).
The name Kilan means - according to its natives - Kingsplace.
In the mountain area of Kilan, leftovers were found from people living there about eighteen thousand years ago. The mountains around the village, like Dar Ali, are scattered with remainders from the Tertiary.
As of 2004, there are between 7000 and 8000 inhabitants, with a remarkably high intelligence. Though not shown immediately by their simple lifestyle, it's clear from the fact that there is no analphabetism, 75 percent of the inhabitants of the village have academic degrees. In the United States of America more than 250 people are employed at universities and even 2 work at the NASA.
