No worries Kieran - great edits and love reading them. You get a bit wordy at times ha ha but yeah - great inputs. Ive been editing 1 article constantly as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabbat_%28band%29 - it almost feels like its "yours" Doesnt it? Very addictive but i absolutley love Wiki! All the best. [edit] Mitsubishi i

I've been slowly working on this page over time, and it's reached the point where I think it meets the criteria of a Good Article, although with two copyrighted fair use images and only 13k of content, it's well short of being FA. The biggest trouble with expanding the article is that the car was only released 12 months ago, so I'm still waiting on a lot of info to become available (e.g. production/sales figures).

I didn't want to throw it open to the whole motley AutoProject community, some of whom may be compelled to "improve" the article by replacing metric with imperial measurements, adding badly laid out galleries of the rear of the car, reams of technical information in tabular or bulleted format, and expounding at length on the North American market perspective. Instead, I thought I'd just test the water by canvassing the opinions of some random auto editors who don't seem obsessed with making WP a Buyers' Guide.

Anyway, you think it's worth taking Mitsubishi i through the WP:GA nomination process?

[edit] Why arent you correcting this??

User:Nareklm is using the same site for "source" , yet he purposely removed my same source (same site armenainhighland.com images) with "no source" so you can remove it. Please check this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Tigranmetscoin.jpg ,this is the same site armenainhighland.com source. Yet he removed my images from the "same site" "same source" Ararat_arev

The source I also had put in "File History" please check at the bottom of the images

Here are my images I uploaded from same site as Nareklm uploaded Tigranmetscoin.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Nkar3.jpg and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Hurrian-AncientArmenian.jpg 75.4.211.151 19:17, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, but I suspect you're talking to the wrong person. I have no idea who you or this other user are, nor what articles you're talking about. Good luck finding the person you wanted. – Kieran T (talk) 19:27, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Sorry about that. 1) it's from a blocked user (User:Ararat arev), and 2) They seemed to have spammed the message to everyone else who received DeLarge's message about the Mitsubishi i, which is completely unrelated. Feel free to ignore if you're not interested. --Interiot 19:31, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Ah! Okay, thanks for letting me know. – Kieran T (talk) 19:34, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New England Quarter article

Hi Kieran, Hope you are well. I have finished the first draft of the "New England Quarter" article as referred to on the Brighton and Hove project page. With your in-depth knowledge of Brighton, could you take a look and let me know of/correct any inaccuracies. Also, have I used the correct method to cite websites? (I'm still very much a beginner on Wikipedia's citation policies!) Also, if you can think of any other appropriate categories or interwiki links, please go ahead; I had to submit it in a bit of a rush at lunchtime. Cheers, Matt. Hassocks5489 15:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Matt, thanks, and likewise! Wow, that's a very comprehensive article, well done. A quick read has brought a few minor points to mind, but I'm on GNER WiFi at the moment which is a bit of a rip off so I'll not be doing any serious contributing for a day or two. One thing that I suspect won't last long is the claim that the car park was "very rarely" full. The word "very" tends to be a red rag to a bull around Wikipedia ;-) – Kieran T (talk) 22:23, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merchiston

Hi Kieran, re: your deletion of reference to J.K.Rowling on the Merchiston page, I assume this was in good faith (of course), but I'm afraid you are wrong on this one. Please consult the "Community Council map showing boundary of area" link and you'll see that Abbotsford Park is very definitely within Merchiston rather than Morningside. If you agree could you revert please. Thanks. timd 13:06, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Tim, sorry about that, you're quite right about the boundaries shown in that map. I must confess that the change was a low-use-of-brain moment; I've moved Alexander McCall-Smith and Ian Rankin out of Morningside and into Merchiston several times in the past and.. well, late night edits probably ought to be banned, but I saw this change which is totally at odds with the content of the Morningside article and leapt to the trigger. ;-)
If changing the Merchiston article as you suggest, we'll need to correct the Morningside one too.
Actually though, it may not be so simple. Looking more closely at that map (which I added the link to a while ago — whoops, what a can of worms) I now wonder if it can be used as a valid source of these boundaries at all, rather than just as the jurisdiction of the Community Council? It shows Bruntsfield Gardens as part of Merchiston, rather than Bruntsfield, which is simply nuts. (I have a house there. Every relevant document we have relating to it, for example from solicitors, and every resident I know there, is very clear that it's in Bruntsfield, not Merchiston.) I suppose we may have a situation where there are overlaps and some areas are subsets of one another, which needs careful research. (Compare with Boroughmuirhead.) – Kieran T (talk) 13:17, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Yup, I'm afraid that people will use concepts loosely, but that's life ;-) The label "Morningside" is probably used to cover quite a large area, possibly because more people recognize Morningside than Merchiston, Braid Hills etc. That is, the concept is used in a wider sense than the strict community district boundaries. (There's a similar phenomenon with parts of Drum Brae and Clermiston being labelled "Corstorphine", but I suspect that that may be down to house prices!)
Anyway, I suggest that the refs to J.K.R. should allowed to stand in both Merchiston (because that's strictly where the house is), and Morningside (because common usage suggests that this is how many people would think of it).

he wont evn disucess this on his talk page so how can i have a conversation with him about it —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.109.234.187 (talkcontribs) 13:42, 4 March 2007.

The best thing you can do is put your point of view on the article's talk page (Talk:Caledonian Sleeper). If the matter goes to mediation or arbitration, your comments there will be visible to all involved. – Kieran T (talk) 13:45, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

but hes doing it n more than 1 page wot am i supposed to do? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.109.234.187 (talkcontribs) 13:47, 4 March 2007.

If he (or she) is unwilling to engage with you on his or her own talk page, please have faith that this will be noted by any mediators or arbitrators who get involved. You really will stand the best chance of a satisfactory conclusion (i.e. a good compromise) by putting your point of view on the talk page of each article you're concerned about. – Kieran T (talk) 13:51, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

i'm not vry good with speaking english ect so can i get som1 to hlp m? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.109.234.187 (talkcontribs) 13:55, 4 March 2007.

I think you're managing to make your points well enough — however, it might be worth explaining, in the talk pages, that you don't have perfect English — then people will be patient with your wording, and won't think that your typing is "lazy" or anything bad like that. – Kieran T (talk) 13:58, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Former Student?

I've noticed that you're quite active on the University of Sussex article; did you used to study there? ---Adasta- 21:09, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Yep. In case it's what got your attention, the Basil Spence essay I referred to in a recent edit summary is available in the library there (and not many other places!) and is a really fascinating insight into the thinking behind the design of Sussex socially as well as physically, and it's also a great insight into a really thoughtful architect. Will be nice to pad out the "history" section with some of the reasonings he gives. – Kieran T (talk) 21:25, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Excellent. What did you study whilst you were here? and what do you do now, if you don't mind me asking? I'm always interested to see what has happened to the students of this actively lefty uni! ---Adasta- 13:36, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't mind you asking, but I do mind putting too much personal info about myself on Wikipedia, because of a bad experience with a moronic troll once. I'd be happy to chat and tell you what happened to me and my bunch of student union activisty friends (and find out what other stories you've gathered), but please drop me an email — there's a link over on the left of this page in the toolbox. – Kieran T (talk) 13:40, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About vandalism

Your edit: Chernobyl disaster (remove example image error and tweak links & units)

It the cases of obvious vandalism it is advised to check the most recent article history. It was corrupted more by an anonymous vandal. `'mikka 19:31, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for my part in whatever confusion has occurred. As it happens I did check — there are two non-anon edits between the last anon and the anon I rvv'd. However, it's entirely possible that there was vandalism prior to those edits. That said though, I also made a "sanity check", or in other words, I read the relevant paragraph. I decided that the version I reverted to was indeed better than the one we had before (which contained details which belong in other articles and an excessive amount of internal links) so I remain content with my action, although I'm annoyed with myself for missing the unclosed brackets later on. – Kieran T (talk) 20:11, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Marine Gate

Hi Kieran, Before I go adding a pic I took the other week, is it reasonable to state that the Marine Gate flats are within the area generally considered as Kemptown? I am inclined to think that they are, but it is a bit marginal, I suppose... Cheers, Hassocks5489 20:19, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Hiya, I suspect they are actually in "Black Rock" or even (unpopularly with the residents) "East Brighton". I have a little book about Brighton's experience of Luftwaffe bombings and I think I recall that book talking about the flats – which took several hits – as being at or above Black Rock. I'll look next time I'm in the same county as my Brighton books! In the meantime, I don't think anybody would object to the flats being described on the Kemptown page, or perhaps even the Kemp Town one, on the basis that the latter is the eastern extremity of the former, so practically adjacent to Marine Gate. But I think we should stop short of stating they're in either, and instead say that they're a short way along the coast. – Kieran T (talk) 22:34, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
