Chris Derek 'Kidd Chris' Foley (b. May 15, 1974) is an American radio personality, who has hosted radio shows throughout the United States during the late-1990s and early 21st Century. He currently hosts an afternoon-drive talk show for the Philadelphia Free FM format station WYSP.

Born in Chittenango, New York, Foley got his start in radio in the nearby town of Syracuse. He was known as the Kitten Destroyer. He then shortened it to Kidd. He also hosted a controversial radio show in Wichita, Kansas (KICT T-95FM, KDGS Power 93.9FM, KANR FLY 92.7FM) which raised the ire of local church groups. Many religious organizations attempted to band together and remove Kidd Chris from the airwaves, but he remained on the air.

Kidd Chris moved onto Sacramento, California where he hosted a morning show on a hip-hop station KSFM. After several months at KSFM, he moved into an evening show on talk station KXOA. Kidd Chris's four-hour talk show was one of the highest-rated radio shows on the Pacific coast. While in Sacramento, Chris gained national attention by sending a series of prank phone calls made to O.J. Simpson to the popular Opie and Anthony and Howard Stern nationally syndicated shows.

In the fall of 2002, Kidd Chris took a hiatus from radio and retired to upstate New York. There, he rejuvenated himself and prepared for his return, which occurred on the morning of January 5, 2004 in San Antonio, Texas. He hosted a highly-rated and extraordinarily popular show at San Antonio's K-Rock 102.7 FM until early August 2005.

With rumors flying that Kidd Chris, a former contributor to Howard Stern's radio program, would replace Stern when Stern's contract expired with Infinity Broadcasting, Kidd Chris signed with Philadelphia's powerful rock station, WYSP FM. The Kidd Chris Show began broadcasting on WYSP 94.1 FM in Philadelphia on Monday, August 29, 2005. Chris has made remarks that the show is "gay" and that "it'll be gone in six months". He has claimed that he loves listening to Counting Crows. He has well passed the deadline that was set for him, and has kept WYSP on top since the departure of Howard Stern in January 2006 and the firing of short-lived radio talk show host David Lee Roth.

On August 21, 2006, it was announced that The Kidd Chris Show had been syndicated to WRKZ 93.7 FM, a rock station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The show entered syndication on August 28, 2006.

On Monday November 13, 2006, Kidd Chris announced he got engaged to long time girlfriend Lené. They are planning to marry in Las Vegas on May 26, 2007.

On Monday March 19 2007 It was announced that 93.7 FM has dropped the Kidd Chris Show from it's lineup and the station may change format.

[edit] Kidd Chris Show staff

  • Chris Foley (a.k.a Kidd Chris) - The host of The Kidd Chris Show.
  • David Eitel (Known on-air as Monkeyboy) - Part of the staff at WYSP prior to the show's arrival. The rest of the staff claim he adds nothing to the show, however, he regularly does impressions when he calls from the next studio. Previously hosted Exposed, a Sunday night rock show on WYSP. Monkeyboy owns a cat and is known for his exclamation of "Wooo!" (like Ric Flair) and "10 in a row!" upon delivering something that he feels is beneficial to the show.
  • Tommy Avallone (Stage name- Rock Hard Killa) - Answers the phones, and does karaoke where he shouts the lyrics. His favorite drink is the White Russian. Ran a train in his parent's basement. Recently broke up with girlfriend Jenell and is known for his horrible spelling. Almost died when choked on a piece of London Broil.
  • Thomas Kitajima (a.k.a. Thomas From The Kidd Chris Show) - A slightly overweight half-Japanese and half-Irishman, known for his arguing and his "gay lisp". He is from Sacramento, California. His mother is the butt of prank calls, often the victim of a bit where the prank caller asks if she wants a subscription to "Negro Monthly". He is constantly harassed by callers, many of whom play the same prank on Thomas: after getting his attention, hanging up very abruptly. Is deathly afraid of snakes. He is repsonsible for getting some guests on the show. Thomas also enjoys eating chicken off of transexuals. He is currently trying to get Public Enemy's Chuck D to call into the show, but has failed to date.
  • Brad Maybe- Producer for the Kidd Show who wears an awful green sweater, used to work on The Booker Show in New York. He is very rude, and yells at guests and at people on customer service lines. Brad suffers from only child syndrome.

[edit] Show Regulars

  • Anthony the Conscience - Former on-air talent on the show in California who apparently contributes behind-the-scenes and calls in regularly. He is a former school teacher and now is a professional martial artist.
  • Brad The Cripple (former intern) - a wheelchair-bound caller with muscular dystrophy (not paralyzed). Brad performs an internet radio talk show Tuesday nights at 8pmET with encores weekdays at 6amET/PT and 8pmET. Brad also attends college (near Sacramento, CA) full time. Check his website: here.
  • Breath (past intern) - Pursuing an art degree, yet cannot spell "college." Teased because of his deep voice. Has widely spaced eyes.
  • Brotha Ron - African American from Philadelphia that offers his unique insight and wisdom to the program on the phone and sometimes in studio.
  • Charles "J" Jennings - African American former McDonald's employee (five years) who aspires to finalize the production of the self-proclaimed "greatest album ever". Mainly attacked by Thomas and callers, Charles retaliates with comebacks, such as, "Catch a brick", "Catch a Karaoke Machine", "Sit and spin", "Catch a brick, you trick", and other variations. Charles J has coined the insult, "Fagatron" and currently works at Carls Jr.
  • Cockroach - A mentally disturbed fan in San Antonio, Texas, who frequently called the show and once threatened Kidd Chris. He left a fake bomb at the S.A. studio, and the whole block had to be evacuated by the police. Left an eerie voicemail for Chris that ended in "Do you believe in VENGEANCE!!??"
  • Constantine - A mildly retarded regular, (found by Brad The Cripple) whose trademark stutter and ignorance of the current on-air conversation are used for laughs. He is featured almost daily after gaining prominence in late 2005 and is often used to make humorous spoofs of songs, most notably "Move Bitch" by Ludacris and "Gold Digger" by Kanye West. In October 2006, Constantine hosted a Saturday show on WYSP and had a party thrown in his honor at a local strip club.
  • Dana-Mite!! - A production and part-time air personality at the Pittsburgh affiliate. Thomas has the hots for her and e-mailed her graphic photos of himself.
  • DJ EggNog - An occasional caller, DJ EggNog makes songs for the show. Best known for Nippy Nippy Nippy, Christmas in North Philly, ChinaMan, Stressin' That S, Fruit of the Month, and the recent hit Gildo.
  • East Coast Bob - A member of the "Cream Team" who is known for prank calling news radio, and news shows. Always drops Kidd's name during the call.
  • Ed McGonigal - Sits in on Tuesday shows, also known as "Tuesdays with Ed" (see Popular Bits below). Has a high-pitched voice that is a mix of Bruno Kirby and Elmer Fudd (sound clips of Fudd are regularly heard). Constantly accused of being on his high-horse. Goes kablooey at local rub & tugs.
  • E-Rock - Works in the mail room at WYSP and is a Juggalo. He is usually mocked because of his deep voice and his taste in music. He has also gotten laid through the Kidd Chris Myspace page.
  • Fast Fred - A mentally challenged white rapper from Sacramento who sports a gold-plated grill and likes to collect trash. Attracted to anything shiny that he finds on the ground. Currently dating a Chubby Checker impersonator.
  • Fat Baby Leg - A "discovered" musician that Chris put on the radio after his debut on a popular television show in search of the next great musician. His hit — which is repeatedly played (and spoofed) — is a song called "Christopher Columbus."
  • Flesh Gordon - High school friend of Kidd Chris with a similar penchant for crank calls as East Coast Bob. Flesh now is the "Clip Finder" of the show, using multiple TiVos to record TV clips to be used on the show.
  • Frank The Voice- A frequent caller of all shows on WYSP, has a strange voice that could be mistaken as Sulu. Was believed to be a bit, but appeared at Connie's Birthday party and on the Kidd Chris Show. Notorious for saying YESSSSSS. Also plays a mean organ/keyboard. Also experienced a few acid trips. Ask him for a balloon animal or a characature of you.
  • Gay Blind Mike - A friend of Chris who had his drink spiked with Ethanol and his eyes began to dissolve over the course of one month. He is also gay and his name is Mike, hence the name Gay Blind Mike
  • Gil (a.k.a. Gildo) - WYSP program director who often drops in to add the "suit" perspective regarding FCC policies. He also spents inordinate amounts of time watching YouTube, and is a scholar on the "Shrimp on a Treadmill" viral video.
  • GOD - Caller who leaves voice messages on Chris's in studio phone.
  • Jim the Regular - A frequent caller who usually makes a quick joke at Thomas' expense who wears very large sweatpants.
  • Kerri-Lee Halkett - Co-hosts Good Day Philadelphia on Fox 29 Philadelphia (Chris calls it "Foxy 29" because of all the attractive female on-air personalities working there). Currently married to an attorney.
  • KiddZimaHater - Song parody contributor with an awful voice, who works in a factory and would, in the past, frequently call the show insulting and pointing out "gay facts" about Kidd Chris. The name "Kidd-Zima-Hater" was created after finding out that Kidd Chris drinks Zima. (Gay).
  • Larry from High School - A man who calls Kidd Chris "Cobra" (from G.I. Joe) and almost always reminisces with Chris about times in high school. Chris has gone on record saying he has never met Larry from High School in his entire life. Sometimes, a clip of 'Larry from High School' will be played while going to or coming from commercials.
  • Larry Mendte - KYW-TV (CBS 3) news anchor who once sold his son's Billy Joel tickets to Chris. Because KYW-TV and WYSP are located in the same building, it is easy for Larry to appear in-studio often. Larry also has some experience as a stand up comic. He is known for his "Oh, look at the time..." line, an excuse for leaving if the show dialogue gets too raunchy and is something he believes could threaten his reputation or career. Given the name "Open Larr" after appearing after Open Mike left the show and Kidd Chris was looking for a producer. Before leaving, Chris will occasionally ask him what is "New at 11", his response being the top stories that are going to be reported during that night's 11 p.m. newscast.
  • Lizzy - a drunk from Kalamazoo, Michigan who rarely makes any sense during her phone calls. She proudly describes her deviant sexual escapades during her on-air calls but frequently contradicts herself.
  • Loose Cannons - Rich Nice (actual last name: Cronin and known to "take the hit") formerly of LFO, or the Light Funky Ones, and his buddy Toothpick (Doug Ray, known for his song "Super Size Me" from the film of the same name) appear on the show almost every other month. The two have formed a rap duo known as Loose Cannons, and Chris has heavily promoted their material. Recent calls involve the two sending Chris embarrassing material from each other's past. They also tell stories about their journeys through the music industry. Loose Cannons released their debut album "Life Goes On" in October 2006.
  • Matt and Huggy - Hosts of another show on WYSP, airing at 1P.M.-3.P.M, E.S.T. The fact that they host the show directly before Kidd Chris results in the blending of the two shows, sometimes for the first 20 minutes of the Kidd Chris Show. Matt is also known as "Dopey Voice Guy" due to the way he talks. Chris usually begins to talk like Matt when he is there, sometimes tricking callers into believing that they are actually talking to Matt.
  • Michaela - a pre-op transexual, and is known for its remarks, "Come on" which is used as a soundbyte on the show. Thomas ate chicken off of it after losing a bet.
  • Open Mike - (Mike Dunlop) Former side sick. He was previously selling counterfeit baseball caps for a living in San Antonio, Texas, and was a stand-up comedian: hence, the name 'Open Mike'. He often participated in public stunts such as being "Scuba Santa", where he would go to a local mall and take the change from a water fountain, or being sodomized by a prostitute with a strap-on. Open Mike quit the show in June 2006 after taking a load from another guy to his chest.
  • Fred Phelps - Controversial pastor from Kansas who calls Kidd Chris to discuss his latest protests, those being centered around the funerals of U.S. soldiers who he claims are perverted for fighting a war to protect a country that protects homosexuals.
  • Reverend Bob Levy - Frequent caller. Mr. Levy interjects dates and locations of his upcoming comedy tours into almost every call and in-studio appearance. Also known for his mispronunciation of the words shrimp ("strimp") and vodka ("vodker"). Levy has been a long-time contributor to both "The KiddChris Show" and Howard Stern's show, and also a closet cokehead.
  • Ruthy the Rapper - A middle-aged Jewish woman, lawyer who raps and only dates black men.
  • Spike - Son of Howard Eskin, hosted "Exposed Sunday nights" on WYSP. He has since moved on to Q-101 in Chicago. Spike visited Philadelphia and in an in-studio appearance, it was discovered that Spike dates a former Playboy model.
  • Turkey (previous intern) - Known for being a husky guy with thick eyebrows. He was the first person to play "Guess The Cherry" and "Nail The Number" with his mom, and guessed correctly on "Nail The Number". He is called a bug light for failure. Turkey is most known for his crank call where he calls a Starbucks and sings "It's Time For The Percolater," and making out with a drunk girl at a comedy show which Ed McGonigal turned down. Turkey also does a podcast with E-Rock from the mail room.
  • Will the Whisperer - Frequent show contributor who calls from work in a low voice so that his boss doesn't hear. Will is a large guy and his weight/size is a frequent topic of conversation when Will calls win.
  • Yetichi (or Yeti) - Calls involve terms such as "meat flaps" and other words usually dumped leaving the listeners to hear everyone in studio laugh in glee.

[edit] Popular Bits

  • A.I.M. Interviews- Rock Hard Killa interviews a celebrity live on the radio. The show uses AOL's Instant Messenger name "KiddChris" and listeners from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh ask the questions to the celebrity.
  • Bald or Beard - A game where staff guesses if a female caller has pubic hair or is shaved.
  • BREAKING NEWS!- A highly produced sounder saying breaking news is played. After that a Huey Lewis and the news song is played.
  • Beat The Clock - A game played on unsuspecting callers to which they have to try to "beat the clock" before staff hangs up on them. There is actually no clock to beat.
  • Caller Nine! - Chris plays a sounder that announces 'Caller Nine' to see how many people call in to win nothing. It is a play to show how trained listeners are to call in when they hear a highly produced sounder.
  • Cream Team - Calling other radio stations and dropping names from the Kidd Chris show. The object of the bit is to completely derail other radio shows and confuse the host. Common targets are sports and political shows.
  • Creepy Storytime with Ed McGonigal - Tuesday regular Ed McGonigal tells odd stories from his past that go nowhere.
  • Free Gas - A bit mocking radio stations that give away free things to try to gain listeners. Chris plays the sounder, which proclaims to give away free gas, and is followed by a loud and wet farting sound, followed by the sounder again.
  • Free Money - Similar to Free Cash, Chris plays song clips by Eddie Money.
  • Gay or Nay - A game where Chris simply asks/guesses the caller their sexual preference.
  • Graffiti - Time allotted at the end of the show to let callers say almost anything they want in one sentence or less (curse words, of course, are dumped out). Lately, it's usually forgotten because of time restrictions.
  • Guess the Cherry - Staff guess the age when a female caller lost her virginity based on nominal biodata. Lately, KiddChris has been playing "Nail the Number" by accident, after calling it "Guess the Cherry". Someone from 'downstairs' called him on it the first time he did that, Thomas called him on it the second time.
  • Hitting the Post - A game mocking radio DJ's where callers are played a song and they must get through the name of the song and the call letters in the intro before the lyrics start. Example: "Hey this is Jon, great day outside so here's a little Weezer "Hash Pipe" on 94.1 Free FM WYSP", and then the song would begin.
  • How Thick Are Your Fingers - A new bit that asks females how thick their fingers are based on total randomness.
  • Jack Shack - E-Rock And Connie interview a porn star. Was hosted by Open Mike and Connie until Open Mike left the show to sell bootleg sports merchandise and teach Driver's Ed.
  • Jew-fer Tuesday - Spoofing the "Two-fer Tuesday" moniker that rock stations use, Tuesday shows have a recurring Jewish theme throughout, featuring extra Jew-related songs or guests. Coincides with "Tuesdays With Ed" (see below).
  • Kidd Chris Show Feedback - A bit similar to Free Gas. Kidd plays a sounder that says "let's hear some feedback on the Kidd Chris Show," after which microphone feedback is played.
  • Kidd Chris Show Kick Ass Ringtone of the Day (KARTOTD) - A useless game mocking "pop" radio stations. A ringtone of a song in polyphonic format is played and the listeners call in to guess what song it is. They win nothing.
  • Kiddlilah - A pardoy of The Delilah Show, which is a long distance dedication radio show. Callers give Chris their problems and see how he can help the caller. On The Delilah Show, slow songs are played in dedication for that caller, but on the Kiddlilah show people request metal songs from bands including Slayer and Pantera. Chris really wants this bit to end, but he keeps on doing it when the callers have real problems.
  • Nail the Number - Similar to "Guess the Cherry", staff members guess the number of sexual partner's a female caller has been with.
  • Name that Constan-tune - A game where callers guess "Constan-tunes" Which are songs that are sung by Show Regular Constantine.
  • Name that Constant-scene - As above, but using popular scenes from movies. Callers usually win tickets, or a shirt.

  • Smash Wednesday - A play on the "Ash Wednesday" religious holiday, callers are invited to bring things in on Wednesdays for the show crew to destroy. Prizes may or may not be given out. Televisions, optical scanners and radios have been destroyed in this segment.
  • Taking A Shot at The Board - A Family Feud-like game where callers guess names or bits from the show, and see if it is on a Family Feud-style board. In reality, the board does not even exist. The only way to "win" is by saying "show me" followed by a punchline (like on Family Feud.). An example could be, "Show me, fat jap Thomas!"
  • Telephone Jihaad - Callers destroy their phones in fun and creative ways.
  • The news with Tanya- Extreme team member Tanya reads the news. It's usually written by Brad Maybe or Thomas.
