Kidangoor is a beautiful village in Kottayam district, near Pala. It is stategicall located between the two major towns in Kottayam district Kottayam and Pala.This small village is blesed with natural beauty and Meenachil River flows through the heart of Kidangoor village.This Village is situated in Kidangoor Panchayath.This village is the birth place of two famous personalities P.K.Vasudevan Nair,better known as comerade [[pkv]].He was former chief minister of kerala and Gopalakrishnan nair (formmer general secretry to NSS).There is one famous christian church(st marys church)and an ancient and famous subramanya swamy temple .This temple is believed to be more than 1500 yrs old.The village was once upon a time a centre for education for the near by villages as it had one lower primary school and two high schools 75 years before.The first library in this village was established in 1927 by socialist 'Irittukuziyil Paramupilla' who was also the front runner in the building of NSS high school.Litrecy rate is very high as this small village has three secondary schools three lower primary schools in its vicinity.The village is mentioned in many old manuscripts and believed to be extinct at least from the 4th century AD. There is also another Village with the same name near Angamaly. It is The birth place of V T Bhattathirippadu.
