Kid Elberfeld
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Norman Arthur "Kid" Elberfeld (April 13, 1875 in Pomeroy, Ohio - January 13, 1944 in Chattanooga, Tennessee) was a shortstop in Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies (1898), Cincinnati Reds (1899), Detroit Tigers (1901-1903), New York Highlanders (1903-1909), Washington Senators (1910-1911), and Brooklyn Robins (1914). Elberfled also managed the New York Highlanders.
After retiring from playing, the shortstop remained in baseball as a minor league manager, first with the Chattanooga Lookouts and later in Little Rock.
Elberfeld was also known as "The Tabasco Kid" because of his fiery temper.
