[edit] Tempura or Templer?

If you look at the listing of song titles in the recently released OST, several of the songs are prefixed with templer- i.e. templer-breeze, templer-promenade - Should the spelling in the article be changed with a note near the top reflecting it? -- Drantin



We should go by the official merchandise's romanizations.

Zed (rather than Zedd) Roya(rather than Roia) Noa(rather than Noah) Templer (rather than Tempura, Tempra, et al) Zymot (rather than Jimoto, Jimot, etc.) -- Grimgoroth

[edit] A section for Spirits

Considering the official site is listing all the spirits within Kiba, should we be adding a section listing them as well? http://www.ki-ba.com/kibachara/spirit.html --Kamajii 19:19, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

I would suggest a list, but that may not be the best. It would be good to frame this in terms of product marketing rather than just another recap of the fiction used in the series. The TCG doesn't seem to be out yet, though it was supposedly out in July. We really have way too many images on this article, some will have to be removed anyway. (WP:FU :The amount of copyrighted work used should be as little as possible. Low-resolution images should be used instead of high-resolution images. Do not use multiple images or media clips if one will serve the purpose adequately.) --Kunzite 00:59, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Zed or Zedd?

Recently, any instance of Zed in the article was changed to Zedd. Which spelling should be the one we use. I've seen it both ways, myself, but I believe that Zed looks better.Rokuwa 19:56, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

I'd say just leave it be till we get an official romanization or more concensus for the most popular english preference. (They're almost tied in google test, but Zedd leads. .) --Kunzite 18:52, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
It just brings to light one of many incredibly poor romanizations in this article. I had assumed that Hepburn Romanization was standard for Wiki. If that is so, then no syllable should be ending with 'M' unless it's romanized specifically otherwise by the series. If not that, then it should at least be uniform. what about the rest of the names?

there's no such thing as "Zi" in japanese so it can't be Zico, and it sounds like Jico so why does someone keep reverting it to Zico?
"Kis" sounds a lot like a japanese pronunciation of "Keith" and I'm convinced that's what it is. Especially with Zed, Noah, and Sebastian I think we can kind of assume Western names
"Gale"? He isn't a type of wind. The name "Gayle" is always spelled with the "y" isn't it?
"Afkareru"? On the official site the katakana for Roia's spirit is Apukareru. Why change it to "f" if it's supposed to be "p"? --—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.219.67.81 (talk • contribs) .
"Zi" may be someone using kunreishiki romanization. But the sound when they say his name on the show is "Ji." We should use {{nihongo|Jico|ジーコ|Jīko|}} until the proper usage is established.
Apu → Afu was likely the result of someone missing a diacritic marc on the kana.
I agree on Gale. Keith may also be Keys, though. But I will addedd the nihongo template to provide for alternate names. (We have rules for this somewhere in the WP:MOS-JA but they're being debated right now.) Whatever we do now can always be changed to suit any more correct romanizations that come out later.. --Kunzite 19:23, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Has anyone considered that "Jiko" or "Zico" could be Zeeco? Looking at the naming schema on the URL for the character on the main site's image http://www.ki-ba.com/kibachara/chara/zee.jpg it would lead one to believe the character's name could be Zeeco, which sounds like Zico or Jiko when pronounced in a japanese accent. --Kamajii 02:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
I noticed that and considered it, but.. looking at some of the other name abbreviations and knowing of past mis-romanizations (i.e. Sailor Satan, I think it may be just the webmaster guessing the names. --Kunzite 03:19, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Could we cite the episodes when adding facts and the like? I've included sample code below that you can just change the information on. Or just add <!-- Epidose 1--> and I'll go in and do it. Thanks!

[edit] Different Name Usage?

I just edited the page with the known information from episode 41 which got subbed. However I saw that the usage of names is slightly different all over the place. Most worthy noticable are Roya (is it now Roia or Roya) Is it Tusk or Task? And not to mention Ulbacana, Ulbacans, Ulbakans, how is that spelled, seen to much different spellings all over the place.. Maybe it is an idea to filter out all the names and correct them to what it is supposed to be. Or if no official names are known then take the best translation from maybe the fansubs and stick with that?

[edit] deceased?

Why are characters being marked deceased? Obviously because they die at some point in the series, but shouldn't that just be mentioned in their profile that they die in a particular episode? Putting it next to the name of the character seems to say the character was deceased before the series starts... Drantin 11:46, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

While the Kyuuketsuki ddl page says the final count will be 51, the japanese wikipedia page says 52... which would make sense for a four season show (one episode a week, 13 episodes a season, 26 episodes a half year, 52 episodes a year...)

Does anyone know where Kyuu got the 51 number from?

No, ANN this time is correct. It will indeed end at 51. Animes like; Transformers: Enenergon, Armada; Gundam SEED, G.S SEED: Destiny all had 52. Just of note, Kyuu isn't usually the source of info.

For you guys wondering about the names. They should be spelled as they sound if they were in their true english form not "fansubbed" form.

  • Noah

Is supposed to be spelled; Noah, as it's spelled like this in the christian bible

  • Jim

Is supposed to be spelled like this

  • Keith

The correct romanization for Keith would be "Kisu (Kee-su)" not Kis. And it's english version would be "Keith"

  • Amil Gaul

This would be Gaul' correct spelling. Instead of Kyuu's "Gaoul"

As far as Mirette's name... as the kana is ミレッド, (lit: Mi Re Do) couldn't this be a reversal of Do Re Mi... especially considering her fascination with music... --Drantin 08:06, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Also whoever is fiddling with Jim's name of the Task profiles -- needs to stop. The correct spelling is Jim (as stated in Mischicorp), and is really the correct spelling for Jim. Not Jimu. Zeta26 13:42, 25 March 2007 (UTC)


Oh, please. When there is an official naming for the characters we should change them. It was NEVER stated that Jim or Jimu is his name, Mishicorp are just another fansubbing group that are merely guessing and Noa's name is Noa, as stated above, so you've been proven wrong once again. Please do not change the names as you see fit, though Jim is actually fine til we get an official romanization. -- Grimgoroth
