KIBB

KIBB(B100.3) was a Rhythmic/Dance Top 40 outlet that based in Los Angeles, California. It was owned by Viacom until the company's radio stations were sold off to Chancellor (Now Clear Channel Communications) in 1997, the year it became KCMG. The frequency is now occupied by Urban Adult Contemporary outlet KRBV.

KIBB made its debut in 1996 as a upbeat Rhythmic Adult Contemporary station with Dance leaning direction. The move was to pattern themselves after WKTU/New York City and to go after listeners who have become disenfranchaised with the increasing Hip-Hop content at KPWR.

Despite the effort and a promotional campaign (one memorable ad featured a large billboard of a Latina woman dancing placed near a building on Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles), KIBB couldn't make a dent in the ratings. After two years and minor tweaks in its playlist and direction, KIBB fate was sealed when Chancellor decided to drop the format in November 1997 for yet another short-lived fad: Rhythmic Oldies.

On August 17, 2006, just ten years after KIBB's debut, the Rhythmic Hot AC format would come back to the Los Angeles airwaves, as KZLA dropped Country music after 26 years to become "Movin' 93.9."
