Talk:Kia Pride
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There was no such thing as a 1986 Festiva, the first model year was 1988. This was a rebadged Mazda, and a Festiva was a rebadged Kia Pride. Christopher Poole 5 Apil 2006.
- As I understand it, production started late 1986 but sales did not start until early 1987 as 1988 models.
- In Korea cars were sold as the year they were built unlike in America where model years usually start in the fall of the previous year (or earlier), not in January. (That may have changed in Korea since then.)
- It's not quite a "rebadged" Mazda because it was built for Ford in Korea by Kia not in Japan by Mazda.
- Ford, Mazda and Kia worked together in a joint effort on the design and engineering.

"Reproduced and launched from 2005.(see also from Kia Rio)" was in the main article. Did this mean the Rio was produced until 2005 or that the Pride was reintroduced in 2005? I took it out, but clarification would be useful if this is true. A qwick search yielded a 2005 Kia Pride from Iran (http://www.carsurvey.org/review_75089.html). Any further information on this would be useful. Christopher Poole 5 Apil 2006.
- Saipa produced the Pride until 2005 when they started building the Rio and introduced a new model based on the Pride.75.33.80.247 08:12, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Removed a seemingly random line that mentioned the Kia Rio, and described performance in relation to rival vehicles without any references.81.77.162.63 18:27, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
