Khuzaima ibn Thabit

Khuzaima ibn Thabit Dhu'sh-Shahadatain al-Ansari (Arabic: خزيمة بن ثابت ذو الشهادتين الأنصاري‎) was one of the companions of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

[edit] 610 – 632: Muhammad's era

He was an Ansar [1].

In the Itqan, Al-Suyuti discussed the number of witnesses and quoted the following from Ibn Ashta's Kitab al-Masahif:

He is among those on whose authority the Hadith of the pond of Khumm was reported [3].

He was among those how initialy refused to give allegiance to Abu Bakr [3][4].

[edit] 634 – 644: Umar's era

[edit] 644 – 656: Uthman's era

[edit] 656 – 661: Ali's era

He was a general under Ali's command during the Battle of the Camel, riding in the head of 1000 Ansar cavaliers [5].

[edit] 661 – 680: Muawiyah's era

He became martyred in the Battle of Siffin, fighting on the side of Ali [1].
