Khushab District (Urdu: خوشاب) is located in Punjab, Pakistan. It had a population of 905,711 of which 24.76% were urban in 1998. [1]

Khushab is a rural district of Punjab province in Pakistan; situated between Sargodha and Mianwali. It has two tehsils: Khushab and Noorpur Thal. It is an old city near the river Jhelum. The district is headquartered at Jauharabad. The population of Khushab is well over one million.
In its jurisdiction falls the famous Soon Valley. The Well known tribes are Tiwana's (Tiwana),the renowned and largest tribe/family of Khushab District and one of the most dominant is the area, followed by the AWAN's, Baghoor(Malik Tahir Raza Baghoor is famour young poltical personalty in district khushab) Paracha, Belal (Malik), Syed (Hamdani), Baloach, Janjaua, Bandial, Utra,Saggu,Chheena, Sheikh and maiken,maikens. Originaly they belong to distt. sargodha(tehsil shahpur).many other casts of Jat. Its famous villages are Hadali (The Hub of Tiwana's), Mitha Tiwana, Hassan Pur Hamoka, Bola, Roda, Parachagan, ), Jalalpur Syedan Hamdania, Okhali Mohla, Gunjayal, Mitha Kho, Adhi Kot, Chan, Rangpur, Noorpur, Jamali, Girot, Nali Nari, Khatha, Dhak, Khhotakka, Bansi, Balwal, Monara, Nowshera, Anga,kufri, Soon Valley, Choa, Warchcha, Obhal, etc.
In the history as well as in the present time, the Tiwana family is one of the influential and leadinig tribe of the area, both respectfully and politically. The present District Nazim and the MNA both being from the very same clan of this district, is nothing new to the people of the area.
Other famous personalities of the Khushab district include the sitting federal minister Sumaira Malik, The famous military men Brigadier Muhammad Nazar Tiwana followed by his younger cousin brother Brigadier Muhammad Azam Tiwana and Major Ahmed Khan Tiwana (Shaheed - Kargil 1999), Tamgha-e-Basalat.
Further more Khushab is a district which is famous because it consists of beautiful lakes, waterfalls, jungles, natural pools and ponds, mountains and thal (desert areas), rivers and lush green agriculture land. Its famous for its DHODHA & PATEESA
