Khomein

Khomein (in Persian خمین) is a city in central Iran, located in Markazi province, about 160 km from Qom and 350 km from Tehran.
In 2005, it had an estimated population of 76,104.[1]

Khomein is mainly notable the birthplace of Ayatollah Khomeini (as well as his grandson Hossein Khomeini), a senior figure of Iran between 1979 and 1989. Khomein is also known for the production its honey and beans, which are shipped around Iran.
