Guys, the human heros are alive, Metzen even said it in the Lore Panel disscussion at Blizzcon (Blizzcon Coverage: 2/17/06 on WOWradio(wcradio.com)) He said that they would be back. If anyone has played WC II: BTDP, it also mentions they go through on of the portals that open up on Draenor.

I just finish reading the book the last Guardian. There was no explisit mention that Khadgar was dead. Although from the vision he was supose to lead a group of alliance forces to fight the orcs.
