Khawaja

Khawaja or Khwaja (Arabic: خواجہ ) is a title used in Middle East and South Asia. It is also used as family name in South Asia.

Those who have had the surname within their family for years are mostly of a higher class Kashmiri descent.

It is also a title used by Persian land owners living in the Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab states of India. Khoja is a clan name of Jats/Rajputs in India. There is also a significant number of Khojas in Mumbai.
