Kharabali

Kharabali (Russian: Харабали) is a town in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia, situated on the left bank of the Akhtuba River (an arm of the Volga) 142 km north-west of Astrakhan at 47°24′18″N, 47°15′20″E. Population: 18,296 (2002 Census).

It was founded in 1770 as selo (village) Kharabalinskoye (Харабалинское); later renamed Kharabali. Town status since 1974
