Khalid Hasan

Khalid Hasan (خالد حسن) is a senior Pakistani journalist. He was born in Kashmir. He was editor of Pakistan Times, Lahore, before being appointed press secretary to President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He left Pakistan after military takeover by General Ziaul Haq in 1977 and worked for different papers in London and as press counsellor to the OPEC in Vienna. He lives in Washington, and works as correspondent of the Lahore-based Daily Times and the weekly Friday Times. He has translated some works of Urdu literature, especially short stories of Saadat Hasan Manto, into English.
