[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Unorlogo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Unorlogo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 22:57, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stories tip

I've noticed that when you expanded Kulto, you've inputted some wrong information about the arc. I know this because I, too, have the complete collection of Pugad Baboy compilations. Here is the misinformation I corrected:

  • The arc never mentions that Brother Jonas has a resemblance to Ryota Miyagi of Slam Dunk (although he does).
  • It is Brother Jonas' group who moved somewhere else, not the UFO watchers.
  • Polgas was never asked about the recording and the prosthetic belly. Brother Jonas was even surprised when he heard the tape without even seeing Polgas. Polgas just unleashes both the tape recorder and the beer belly.

Next time, when typing future arcs, please check your info first and make sure it is correct before you post. - 上村七美 | talk 11:28, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I noticed that you have made a mistake in putting the blame on me for the erroneous entries in the Kulto arc. It was made by some user name Eaglestorm. Compare my last edit before the erroneous entries were plugged in --> Kguirnela's last edit before erroneous entries and Eaglestorm's edits that put in the errors--> Eaglestorm's ERRONEOUS Entries. (check the history page on the article) When I made my (wikify, cleanup, more info) edits last January 13, those erroneous entries were already there. I did not bother to check those entries, since I don't consider myself a brother's keeper over the Pugad Baboy articles; I simply consider myself a contributor. Aside from being a teacher, I am an information technology practitioner; I know full well the consequences of erroneous information and you can be assured of the veracity of my contributions.
  • Next time, when attempting to correct the work of other people, please check your info first and make sure it is correct before you post. -- Kguirnela 02:02, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
You copied my words out of my mouth. Anyway, sorry about me accusing you of typing the misinformation someone else gave to the article. I just checked the page history, corrected the misinformation, and made a rash decision. Please forgive my behavior. I've already forwarded the stories tip message to Eaglestorm right now. - 上村七美 | talk 10:44, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
I know it's difficult for a person to admit his or her shortcomings and apologize... i commend your action. I accept your apology. Let's just work on the Pugad Baboy arcs again. =) -- Kguirnela 01:57, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Paglalanse"

Do you know what "paglalanse" means? I've typed the Oplan Paglalanse story arc article last night, complete with trivia. But I don't know the exact or near English term for it. Can you help me with this? Thank you in advance. - 上村七美 | talk 10:54, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

"Lanse" is a Filipino word that means -- this is a loose translation (i'm not familiar with the etymology) -- "to get by trickery or deceit". If some one says "Nalanse ako.", this means "I was conned." That's the best I can do for the moment, I'll have to ask some Filipino language teachers I know first. =) -- Kguirnela 02:05, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User category

Hi. Category:Wikipedians_who_have_never_left_their_country has been nominated for deletion. You may want to make it a userbox instead. Just a heads-up. Xiner (talk, email) 16:21, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

I have no problem with that, thanks for the heads up. =) -- Kguirnela 02:01, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] If you are interested

I have uploaded a photo of a different design Japanese 10 peso note, at Image:Japanese.peso.jpg if you interested. 219.89.19.75 19:28, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! I'll include that in the Japanese government-issued Philippine fiat peso article. -- Kguirnela 02:37, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] PAASCU article

I've removed the copyrighted text you insist on placing in the PAASCU article. The text you have placed is merely lifted from PAASCU's website. This is a violation of Wikipedia policy. Further insistence in placing the copyrighted text will be met with reversion. Rmcsamson 14:40, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

For the record, the text I 'insist' on placing in the PAASCU article is not 'merely lifted' from PAASCU's website. It was sourced from a PAASCU Accreditation Primer; my only sin is the failure to properly cite that tome. However, if such failure on my part disturbs your delicate sensibilities, I shall refrain from reverting it again, for the moment. =) -- Kguirnela 16:36, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
The problem is not citation, but copyright violation. The same text you insist on restoring is available in www.paascu.org.ph. The primer you are talking about can be accessed via the website. In any case, the text you insist on placing is exactly the same text in the website. It appears that since you say it's from a primer, then the text you insist on placing was also merely lifted from that source as well. This is a violation of WP:C. My sensibilities, delicate or otherwise, are of no relevance to this. The reckless violation of Wikipedia policy on copyrights is.Rmcsamson 18:05, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Well you seem to assume that the Primer I was referring to is the primer available for download on the website - it is not; it was an actual primer in book form, which I assume was also used by the web developers in building the organization's web presence. The egg came before the chicken; is it still a copyvio just because the items in the book and in soft copy are exactly the same? Am I to assume that I have the right to rephrase these official policies set forth by PAASCU? Wouldn't that be "reckless"? -- Kguirnela 08:17, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
The form is irrelevant. The content is substantially identical. Thus, the copyright violation still subsists. Yes, rephrasing is allowed, because there is at least an attempt to avoid recklessly placing the exact copyrighted text. What would be preferred, however, is a discussion of the contents of the primer, with possible elaboration on, say, which schools, colleges, and universities have already achieved certain levels of accreditation, criticisms faced by PAASCU's accreditation process, etc. Rmcsamson 15:00, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Cool. Well taken. -- Kguirnela 02:34, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Gallery of Pugad Baboy comic books

An editor has nominated Gallery of Pugad Baboy comic books, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gallery of Pugad Baboy comic books and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. [edit] Image:AubreyMiles.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:AubreyMiles.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 48 hours after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 13:36, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:AubreyMiles.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:AubreyMiles.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:36, 2 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 13:36, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
