Keystone Power Plant

The Keystone Power Plant, owned by seven power companies, is located in Shelocta, Pennsylvania. The power plant has a capacity of 1,712 megawatts. The power is produced by two coal-fired units. The station also includes four diesel-fired combustion turbine generators rated at 2.75 megawatts each

  • NRG Energy: 3.7% or 63 Megawatts
  • Duquesne Light Holdings: 2.47% or 42.3 Megawatts (this part was previously owned by Atlantic City Electric)

It is the #4 emitter of mercury in the USA. The Keystone plant emitted 1800 pounds of mercury in 2001.
