[edit] Original email

Here are the questions from the email on 5/1.

First let me rephrase the case from your point of view back to you make sure I understand the claim and to indicate where I need blanks filled in:

  1. There is an organization called LMS which stands for Latin Mass society which is a small sect of worshippers within the catholic church. Question: Do you consider it to be in good standing but small, questionable (like the american http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Society_of_St._Pius_X), schismatic (like the american http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Society_of_St._Pius_V) or outright heretical? (or any other answer?)
  2. Roydosan is a member of LMS
  3. You are creating a bunch of websites for specific archdiocese (now two questions):
    1. which ones? (all of england or ...)
    2. are those the only websites you two are arguing about?
  4. There is a link section at the bottom of each website.
  5. You think there should be links for? (fill in here)
  6. Roydosan is including a few LMS links which are churches within the diocese with an active traditional mass as well as a general link to the LMS website
  7. ) you object to these links because you think that these links create a POV due to link selection issues (i.e. you can't link to every church and every little group on every diocese)

Please tell me if I got it right (or where I'm wrong) or anything you want to add....

Now a few other questions

  1. You seemed to half object to one LMS link per archdiocese. Was that a compromise offer or were you indicating that even that wouldn't be acceptable? Assuming you are OK with this link any objection to Roydosan having control on the link (i.e. it can link where he wants) with a title like "LMS representation in XYZ diocese"?
  2. Roydosan is of the opinion (from his posts) that you have excessive hostility to the LMS. Do you believe you are more hostile towards the LMS than an average catholic would be? That is, is you only problem with LMS that it is a small organization and thus linking is misleading or it the particular organization. For example if someone created a link for "catholic youth groups for mentally retarded children is Southwark" and linked Southwark to it would you have the same objections?

[edit] New questions that have arisen

Do you agree that the mass is of principal importance and as such mass related organizations deserve to be given more attention. That is a secular organization could run schools, run hospitals, provide counseling, .... but only the church can perform mass so that its mass related activities are of greater importance in terms of Catholicism?

Another compromise offer would be a link to the LMS per diocese page (that is LMS specific webpages for each diocese). Perhaps even textual in nature (that is not in links). Is that acceptable?
