[edit] History

Talley filled in on drums with The Black Dahlia Murder after their original drummer, Pierre Langlois, was denied entry into the States by his home country of Canada. He was a session drummer on Soils Of Fate's 2003 release Crime Syndicate. He filled in with The Red Chord for their 2006 tour, and was also filling in with Hate Eternal for their 2006 North American tour, after Derek Roddy left the band due to personal reasons.

In March 2002, Slayer needed to replace their drummer Paul Bostaph so they decided to select a drummer for a rehearsal after his performance on a self video he had to sent them. Kevin Talley was one of those selected among Joe Nuñez (Soulfly), Adrian Erlandsson (Cradle of Filth, The Haunted, At the Gates), Raymond Herrera (Fear Factory). All of these drummers have been severely criticized by Kerry King in his interview with Close-up Magazine two months after. Even though Talley had been one of the most appreciated on this list, he still was not hired because Dave Lombardo returned to play drums for Slayer.

After this incident, knowing Chimaira was searching for a new drummer to replace Richard "Ricky" Evensand, Kerry King hooked them up. This whole process can be seen on the DVD, The Dehumanizing Process. This association gave birth to Chimaira's self-titled album. Kevin toured with Chimaira until early 2006, as Andols Herrick decided to join Chimaira again.

He is now in death metal band Daath and has done the drumming on two of the songs on their new album. Those songs are "Ovum" and "War Born." He is known for his fast foot work and uses Axis pedals.

Talley started his own record label called "Counter Strike Records", and in mid-2006 signed San Antonio, TX based band "Blood of our Enemies". Their debut full-length album "The Eyes of a Dead Traitor" will be released on Counter Strike Records in early-January, 2007. www.myspace.com/bloodofourenemies
