Kevin Spidel

Kevin Spidel is political consultant currently working with the ACLU in Arizona, as well as the Hip Hop Caucus in Washington DC. Previously he was the National Deputy Director and co-founder of Progressive Democrats of America. He resides in the West Valley of Phoenix, Arizona. He also runs a widely read local blog called SpidelBlog.
In 2006 he was the Campaign Manager Christine Cegelis for Congress, which garnered major attention from netroots and larger national media. He was the National Director and founder of Progressive Vote which merged into Progressive Democrats of America at Roxbury Community College in Boston, MA during the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He was also the former National Political Director & National Field Director for the Kucinich for President in 2004. His political career started out as a Western Field Organizer for Amnesty International, USA. He worked to lobby against the Death Penalty and worked toward building coalitions of faith based communities on the issue of Death Penalty Abolishment. He went on to serve as a grassroots field trainer for Amnesty International and has taught many grassroots workshops on various issues from partisan work within social justice movements to organizing large scale multi-state lobbying efforts.
